This past Friday, January 4, in San Francisco, Chandran Gallery, in association with Juxtapoz and Power House Productions, presented a special benefit exhibition, installation, and auction in support of an innovative artist-in-residence program in Detroit. The exhibition, Iron To Gold/Ashes To Hope, is now presenting the donated artwork as part of an online auction on Paddle8 closes on January 22nd at 10am EST.

Last night, we were able to check out the setup of the Chandran Gallery x Juxtapoz Iron To Gold/Ashes To Hope exhibition opening tonight only, January 4, in San Francisco. Singapore/San Francisco-based Chandran Gallery, in association with Juxtapoz and Power House Productions, present a special benefit exhibition, installation, and auction in support of an innovative artist-in-residence program in Detroit that features artists from around the country in hopes of creating a meeting place of creativity in the middle of the USA.

This Saturday, June 16, Canlove will be opening a solo show at 941 Geary in San Francisco, titled No Can Left Behind. Canlove is an LA-based Graffiti Recycling Organization founded and managed by creative partners DJ Neff and Paul Ramire, who aspire to transform every discarded spray can into its own work of art, and this show will be the first large scale installation of the artist collaborative.

Doze Green opened a new solo show, Luminosity in the Dark Rift, at Jonathan LeVine in NYC last month, featuring some of our favorite Doze works to date. Colin Day, who shot a bunch of photos for us last year at Outside Lands in SF, shot a great video of Doze preparing the new works at a studio in San Francisco. A great look at former Juxtapoz cover artist, from February 2008, and his behind-the-scenes preparation.

We have worked with Monica Canilao on installation projects in Detroit and at Outside Lands in San Francisco this past summer, and she just opened a new installation exhibition with Bunnie Reiss at LoPo Gallery in San Francisco. Colin M Day, who has been making great videos around SF, captured Monica and Bunnie in preparation for the show at LoPo.

This past Summer, Juxtapoz curated the art portion of the San Francisco 3-day music festival, Outside Lands. Last weekend, Juxtapoz celebrated the annual San Francisco Outside Lands Festival and curated the art portion of the event. Mike Shine, Monica Canilao, Skinner, Jeremy Fish, Tifffany Bozic, Mike Giant, and others all created work for the event, with Shine and Canilao building full, immersive installations and performance pieces.
