It is Friday, it is the holidays, and we could use an afternoon beer. And now we are even more thirsty after seeing that Danish artist Troels Carlsen created a unique label design for Danish specialty beer Wiibroe Årgangsøl. This is the 27th time that the company has had a Danish artist create a special label, and Carlsen being one of the best in contemporary Danish art, we love the look.

As you have seen on the site over the past few weeks, the Juxtapoz staff has been looking through all the finalists for the various categories in the A'Design Awards. In summary "In a world where there are millions of products and designs launch each year, the award was born out of the desire to underline the best designs and well designed products." Today, we look at some really awesome ideas for packaging design, which could be anything from Coca Cola cans, wine bottles, rum bottles, cookies, and some really good branding for meats and fish.

Swiss architect, designer, and sculptor Max Bill is widely known for his connection with the Bauhaus where he first studied under famed creators such as Walter Gropius, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, and Oskar Schlemmer. Bill comes on the latter half of a generation of highly influential designers and artisans that revolutionized the way we create things today.

We are so excited to have the J Dilla vinyl figure by Pay Jay sitting in our office today, especially because the first edition has completely sold out! But have no fear, the second edition is in the making. Here is the lowdown The J Dilla Figure is an official Pay Jay Productions release, produced under the oversight of the Estate of James Yancey. The Figure was conceived and rendered by Detroit artist Sintex, designed and sculpted by Seoul-based toy artist P2PL. It was manufactured by Blitzway on behalf of Pay Jay. It is a collaborative release with Stussy, whose logo is officially licensed.

One of our favorite artists and graphic designers, Jean Jullien, is getting ready to open a solo show at London's Kemistry Gallery on December 4, 2014. We are going to be in Miami Beach at that time, but if we lived the cross-continental life. we would be cruising over to England to check it out. Celebrating the intersection between fashion, art, and music, Adidas and HVW8 just opened an exhibition tokick off the release of new artwork on Seeley and Adi Ease styles from two of the designers Kevin Lyons and Jean André.The show is now open at HVW8 in LA through December 28, 2014.

PUBLIC WORK is the first exhibition to focus exclusively on L.A. based artist Peter Shire’s public and private architectural commissions. Executed over the course of three decades, the architectural works demonstrate Shire’s understanding of the formal principles of twentieth-century art and architecture collided with his interrogations of popular culture and the vocabulary of visual design.
