Anthony Burrill, who was the featured design artist in a recent issue of our print edition, is working on a new poster series project with Banana & Associates entitled "Innocent Targets." From their site, Innocent Targets is a reminder of the thousands of lives lost to the deadly gun culture in America and a call-to-action to help us put an end to it.

On Saturday, November 1st, 2014 Soze Gallery will be presenting an exhibit of unique custom painted Modernica fiberglass shell chairs made on the original Herman Miller Equipment to benefit The Art of Elysieum. Established artists including RETNA, Erin Riley, Aaron De La Cruz, Ben Frost, Mel Kadel and many others will display custom painted chairs that are works of art in and of themselves.

"Momentum" was a beautifully documented and executed project by United Visual Artists that was presented at London's Barbican Art Gallery earlier this year. From UVA, "Coinciding with their 10th anniversary, UVA present Momentum, an immersive installation that combines light, sound and movement. Drawing on physics and digital technology, UVA are turning the Curve into a spatial instrument, installing a sequence of pendulum-like elements throughout the 90 metre long gallery to create an evolving composition of light and sound. . . "

Before apps, text messages, and cameras, there was a phone that changed the way we conversed over telecommunications. Designed by Henry Dreyfuss Associates, the Trimline telephone for Western Electric (which supplied AT&T) was produced from 1965 until the late 90’s. This phone was a benchmark in the development of modern telephone design and production.

Supreme always has a great art collaboration each season, and we thought that the HR Giger deck and jacket that was announced last month was solid enough. This week, the NYC-based fashion stalwart announced a collection with the legendary artist Raymond Pettibon (cover of Juxtapoz n100 if you are counting at home.) The collection features a skate deck design, hoodie, jacket, and t-shirts in multiple colorways. Go get it starting on September 18.

Everyone in the Juxtapoz office is looking for a new chair, and sometimes we swap or steal when others are out for the day. I think I have the best chair, but the butt is a little big on it and I slide around.
