Despite the deep and complex chemistry of analog instant film, with new meaning, it has returned to our lives. Turning light into images, if not ingenious, is then the simple joy of watching magic develop.

We are in the waning days of summer, about a month to go, and we think a good way of celebrating comes in the form of the polaroid photography of various women clothed and not so-clothed by fashion and commercial photographer Chloe Aftel. Chloe has a great resume of editiorial shoots for Levi's, Google, and Nintendo, but perhaps a little nudity would never hurt anyone...

For lovers of analog and film, The Impossible Project was started in October 2008 just as Polaroid was ending its production of instant film. Now, 10 former Polaroid employees have taken over the task of preserving the industry of instant film production, with multiple different films and cameras still available today. Our contributing, on-the-road-photographer, Brock Fetch, has been around the United States the past few months, using the Impossible Project film and exploring the Polaroid look as he shoots some of hip-hop's biggest names: ASAP Rocky, Action Bronson, Joey Badass, Asher Roth, and others... enjoy.

We, like most people today, use the CameraBag app on our iPhone to get a nice vintage, Polaroid look on our photos. But, the people of Impossible are still providing Polaroid film, and recently released a PX 680 Color Shade pack.

The deep, dark grit and grain of old polaroid film, the content of the solitary exposed, women engulfed in blackness and the discovery of something rich and forbidden. Nathan Appel's photographic works seem to follow the words of Herman Hesse 'Among all my dreams the dark dream of love was most faithful' through the yearnings of his depictions in the night.

Contributor to Juxtapoz Magazine, Joshua Blank, recently showed us some of the Polaroid work of Michigan-born, recently turned Brooklyn-based photographer, Megan Leonard. We had been searching for some good Polaroid work after we shot Polaroid film ourselves at MOCA's "Art In the Streets." Leonard is a good barometer.
