Well this is a lot of fun. A few years ago, you may remember Juxtapoz printing a cover story on Hard Case Crime, a book publisher bringing back the pulp vibes and a little salacious fun of times of past. Well, Heritage Auctions has a crazy auction of Illustrative Art that covers both the past and present in pulp art, naughty things, and just some classic illustrations. From Dink Siegel, Hilo Chen, and the 1980's vibes of Patrick Nagel, this auction is classic.

An awesome show at Ricco/Maresca in NYC, one that we think Juxtapoz readers will love: "Post-war America saw the rise of the erotic pulp paperback novel covers. The objective of these covers was to lure in potential buyers with the promise of sex, suspense and drama. Our November 2013 issue is on newsstands now, featuring a cover story on publisher of hardboiled crime, pulp noir novels, Hard Case Crime. HCC has brought back the classic crime detective series, and in doing so, have hired illustrators to recreate the vintage look of the great pulp genre. The results are both refreshing and a perfect ode to one of the great eras of commercial illustrations. Today, we look at the works of Michael Koelsch, who not only did the cover of the upcoming title Borderline for Hard Case Crime, but whose work is the cover of the new Juxtapoz.
