Known Gallery in LA just passed along a few teaser images of their upcoming exhibition, Gilgamesh, with Detroit-based REVOK. We last spoke to REVOK in our special Public Art Issue in May 2012, and we anticipate another chapter in the artist's work with collaging found wood, especially now that the artist is working in a city of transformation such as Detroit.

Revok’s presence in graffiti is undeniably one of the strongest and he just keeps getting better. His inside work is equally as interesting as his outside work and his solo exhibition “Gilgamesh” will surely be a show worth visiting.

The Seventh Letter has just released a lengthy first portion of a video series documenting the Detroit Beautification Project. The video focuses on the intent of the project told by Revok and Pose, with some words from Askew, a city council meeting discussing Sever’s mural, and local residents weigh in on their thoughts about the art. As you can see from the video, Detroit is becoming a destination for artists from around the world with “the common goal to bring vibrancy to one of America’s greatest cities.”

The Seventh Letter and The Hundreds have just released this video featuring graffiti artist, Revok. The video highlights Revok telling a story of his father, as well a reminding those who write on things to not take themselves to seriously. The artist also paints a dick and a “Fuck The Police”, there is a head banging guitarist, and a butler serving a spray can! Good watch.

Ces, Revok, Steel, Nekst Reyes, Sever, Knows, Pose, Zes, Yes 2, Askew, Smash, Risk, Omens, Klor and Shank have all been busy fuming up the post-apocalyptic city. Sleezy McCheezy was on the scene and got the following pics.

Here is a crispy clean Twist in 1997 with Chevy, Revok, and Kokes hanging out on a roof in the background. A good time for S.F. graffiti scene.

Revok who is currently featured in our most recent May print issue and artist Jim Darling recently collaborated on this discarded junk installation in an abandon church in Detroit. Working on the piece for two days, the artists dragged an organ up two flights of stairs along with any other objects left in the vicinity they could use.
