We are proud to kick off the Fall season with a cover story on San Francisco-based fine artist Richard Colman. Richard's work has evolved and expanded so much since we last spoke to him in 2010, and his newest body of work continues to be an exploration on the way we as humans communicate and interact. We spent a few weeks with Richard in his studio in SF as well as around the city he calls home to catch a glimpse at the intricate details of the working artist's life.

Tomer Hanuka's 'Bankers at the Dawn of Civilization' for Playboy Magazine is perfect example of a wild poolside bash in Vegas. 'This would have been disturbing if it wasn't so prevalent. They took the bailout cash, pocketed it as bonuses and blew it on coke and whores in Vegas. The 1st sketch had to be cleaned up somewhat, to keep it classy.' A favorite over here, Tomer Hanuka, is a talented illustrator and a cartoonist based in New York City. He works on a range of projects for magazines, book publishers, ad agencies and film studios. Lucky for us, he breaks down his illustration process on some of his more intricate pieces, showing us the step-by-step evolution of his method for creating. He is currently developing an animated series for Canal Plus and working on a graphic novel for First Second.

A few months ago, we announced the release of NYC-based illustrator Tomer Hanuka's new book, Overkill. Today, Upper Playground and Gingko Press have released a limited edition version of Hanuka' book, featuring embossed cream slipcase and a limited edition Giclee print on archival fine art paper, in an edition of 120.

Tomer Hanuka is an illustrator and cartoonist based in NYC, who also currently teaches at the School of Visual Arts. He works on a range of projects for magazines, book publishers, ad agencies, and film studios. His clients include The New Yorker, Nike, and Microsoft, and he has won numerous awards for his work, including multiple gold medals from the Society of Illustrators and the Society of Publication designers.

As you probably know, Hanuka (the cover of our January 2008 issue) was one of the contributors to the award-winning film, Waltz With Bashir.
