Primarily used during WWI, Dazzle Camouflage was used on Ally warships to make it difficult to estimate a target's range, speed, and heading. Consisting of complex patterns of gemoteric shapes in contrasting colors, interrupting and interseting each other, the technique attracted the notice of artists, including Picasso who notably claimed cubists had invented it.
