On June 26, 2022, Margaret Keane, known for her paintings of "Big Eyed" children that became hugely popular in the 1960s, died at her home in Napa, California. She was 94. As we reported in a feature in 2014, her husband infamously claimed credit for her work, and Margaret became the subject of the Amy Adams starring, Tim Burton film Big Eyes. We featured Margaret, the screenwriters and Burton in our June and December 2014 issues.

Back in 2014, Juxtapoz contributing editor Kristin Farr was so fascinated by Margaret's story that she produced a video interview with KQED Arts where the Napa, California-based artist talks about her work and what it was like to see her life played out on the big screen.
