With the election coming up, you almost forget there is a haunting vibe a week before. The exhibition is titled I Want Your Skull and will run October 19th through November 9th at our friends The Trophy Room. The crux of the show is the Skull or skeleton. More specifically, Memento mori (Latin for "remember (that you have) to die") is an artistic or symbolic trope acting as a reminder of the inevitability of death. The most common motif is a skull, often accompanied by bones. Frequently, this alone is enough to evoke the trope, but other motifs include a coffin, hourglass, or wilting flowers to signify the impermanence of life. This theme, while sobering,  is also a powerful inspiration for artistic expression.

The artists selected for the exhibition represent diverse styles and backgrounds, from traditional/classical paintings to outsider to underground comic artists. This curation creates an exciting dialogue between all these disciplines, and we are thrilled to invite you to participate.
