From live drawing, artist talk featuring Takashi Murakami and curated music reception with Aesop Rock, Juxtapoz and Kaikai Kiki will be taking over Seattle's Pivot Art & Culture from August 4—7, 2016.
The Juxtapoz x Superflat exhibition will be open each day from 9am—9pm, but here are a few special events during the weekend that we are preparing. Follow Juxapoz on Instagram at @JuxtapozMag for all updates.
Thursday, August 4: Famed illustrators Kim Jung Gi and Terada Katsuya will be drawing from morning until afternoon. Yuji Ueno will be holding a performance later in the afternoon.
Friday, August 5: Terada Katsuya will be drawing from morning to evening.
Also on Friday afternoon, will also be hosting a special Artist Talk, featuring Takashi Murakami and many of the artists in the exhibition, at 2pm.
At 7pm, Aesop Rock will stop to curate a special playlist for our reception party.
Saturday, August 6: Gallery will be open from 9am—9pm, with Terada Katsuya drawing from morning to evening.
Sunday, August 7: Again, gallery will be open from 9am—9pm. Terada Katsuya will be drawing from morning to evening.
The exhibition was co-curated by Takashi Murakami and Juxtapoz Editor, Evan Pricco.
Artists selected to appear in the show by Murakami include: Chiho Aoshima, Urs Fischer, Kim Jung Gi, Kazunori Hamana, James Jean, JH Kagaku, Friedrich Kunath, Takashi Murakami, Kazumi Nakamura, Otani Workshop, Mark Ryden, David Shrigley, Katsuya Terada, a selection from Toilet Paper Magazine, Yuji Ueda, Yuji Ueno, He Xiang Yu, and Zoer & Velvet. Artists selected by Pricco include Trenton Doyle Hancock, Todd James, Austin Lee, Rebecca Morgan, Elisabeth Higgins O’Connor, Paco Pomet, Parra, Christian Rex van Minnen. Erin M. Riley, Devin Troy Strother, Sage Vaughn, and Ben Venom.
