Samuele Visentin is proud to present Twelve Paintings—a solo show by American artist Max Xeno Karnig presented in the rooms of Alchemilla at Palazzo Vizzani Sanguinetti in Bologna, Italy. The show includes 12 works on copper panel and will be open until July 31st by appointment (Saturdays from 12pm to 5pm).

Max Xeno Karnig draws inspiration from historical Western European painting, specifically its fascination with a formalized vision of desire. He grapples with a gaze that holds the subject at an impossible, formally-suspended distance in the frame, utilizing compositional schemes and painting processes characteristic of idealized allegorical portraits by painters like Albrecht Dürer and Antonello da Messina.
