Last week on Radio Juxtapoz, we introduced Katie Merz's upcoming collaboration with home goods company Simplehuman (the ones with the now-iconic functional objects like the sensor trash cans, soap dispensers, and kitchen essentials). Today we can share the capsule collection with you, featuring the Brooklyn artists signature journalist art-form onto sensor cans and soap dispensers. The collection will launch in a special pop-up exhibition in NYC this weekend, with an online launch of the collection set for Simplehuman's online shop on Friday, May 2, 2025.

As a Brooklyn native, Katie Merz’s art is an embodiment of the city’s vibrant energy, capturing the fluidity and authenticity of urban life. Katie’s creative process revolves around simplifying daily experiences into accessible visuals. This ability to distill life’s complexities into clarity mirrors Simplehuman's own focus on functional, thoughtfully designed products that simplify the daily routine and allow everyone to enjoy art in the everyday. The collaboration is a celebration of transforming and heightening the simple daily routines and everyday objects into art.

The pop-up will be held at 413 Bleecker Street, NYC, open to the public Friday—Sunday (May 2 - 4) from 11am - 7pm.
