This past weekend marked yet another sold out Aftershock Festival in Sacramento, bringing in roughly 60,000 people, with half of them coming from outside of California.
In what has become a large-draw destination music event, Danny Wimmer Presents delivered again with two days of music, food, art, and cool experiences for concertgoers. This year showcased a number of musicians, bands, and artists we’ve featured over recent years.
Saturday saw a great afternoon set from Action Bronson, followed by good vibes from 311, a brutal, chaotic set performance by GWAR (December 2015 issue cover feature), and ended with a hometown tear from Deftones.
Sunday sets included a frenetic performance by At The Drive In (July 2017 issue) and Juxtapoz-featured artist Brandon Boyd and Incubus.
This is the fourth year Juxtapoz has worked on an art area and we teamed up with locals from 1810 Gallery to create an immersive art forest with live painting amongst face-lined trees. We had a great lineup of local artists including Shaun Burner, Franceska Gamez, Jose Di Gregorio, Jared Tharp, Esther Marie Hall, Ryan Stark, Brent Patten, Nick Mynas, Lynn Perry, and Melissa Uroff.
Special thanks to Leave Your Mark Sac for helping us out with the paint and supplies.
Special thanks to Justin Zwieg and the entire Danny Wimmer Presents team. Looking forward to next year.
