"Infusing my past and present styles, this show is a transition from my big-eyed human figures to depictions of alien characters," Ana Bagayan said of her new show, Futurealism opening at La Luz de Jesus. "I started my illustration and fine art career painting emotional big-eyed children. Years later, when I came across the alien abduction phenomenon, I noticed an uncanny resemblance between my characters and the human-alien hybrid children.A simple thematic change in my artwork transported us into alien worlds with big-eyed cosmic children. This style of art has become known as Futurealism."
La Luz de Jesus Gallery’s exhibition Futurealism, a solo exhibition exhibiting the newest series by Ana Bagayan, opens December 6th at 4633 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles. A simple thematic change in Bagayan’s artwork transports the view into alien worlds with big-eyed cosmic children. Bagayan coins this style ‘Futurealism’. This series of portraits are painted with an eerie glitch effect. 3D glasses will be provided at the opening for enhanced viewing.
The exhibition will run from December 6th to the 29th. The gallery will be closed for Christmas day.
