One of the best parts of curating an art show with the likes of Takashi Murakami is that you get to have some of your favorite artists' work in the same room as you. And count Friedrich Kunath as one of our favorites, a Blum & Poe staple, who will be part of "Juxtapoz x Superflat," taking place at Pivot Art & Culture in Seattle from August 4—7, 2016.

The German-born, Los Angeles-based artist came onto our radar with his sculptures of penny-loafer shoes that were larger than life, and casually walking themselves into and out of Blum & Poe gallery (which you can see in the gallery above). As Kaikai Kiki notes, 'Kunath works in a wide range of media, integrating a highly descriptive visual language into his paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs and videos. By exercising an acute understanding of life’s highs and lows, Kunath creates emotive works that tap into a collective consciousness – exploring the ways in which we live, love and remember." We can't wait to see his work in the show!
