We mentioned this a few weeks back when we announced that Swoon was the juror for Surreal Salon 18, but the deadline for submissions is November 8, 2025. Each year, our friends at Baton Rouge Gallery host the Surreal Salon, with this season's exhibition on view January 2 – 25, 2026 at BRG, located inside Baton Rouge’s City-Brooks Community Park.
The rundown: Now entering its 18th year, Surreal Salon is aimed at engaging audiences in an art experience like no other in the region by highlighting the growing popularity and exceptional quality of the pop-surrealist/lowbrow movement. Submissions will be reviewed via a blind jurying process that will ensure that works are selected based solely on their artistic merit (the juror does not see an artist’s name until after selections for the exhibition have been made).
More than $2,000 in cash prizes was awarded to participating artists in conjunction with the exhibition and the artist whose work is selected as Best in Show is also be profiled in an online editorial by Juxtapoz.
Today, we look at the past winners and some of the selects from 2025 when guest juror, Evan Pricco, of Juxtapoz took the honors he now passes to Swoon!
